Crochet Pattern for Monterey Hat

This hat is so unique, and looks really cute when you wear it. I created the bottom half of the hat to look like it was knit. It also has lots of stretch like a knit hat, too. Wear it and you’ll get lots of comments, trust me!

-What You Need-
Yarn: About 200 yards of any worsted weight yarn (try and use a soft yarn!). If you want to change colors for half of the hat, you’ll need about 50 yards for the top mesh part, and about 150 yards for the tightly crocheted bottom brim. (I used Naturally Caron Country yarn for the Turquoise/Green ones, and Lion Brand Micro Spun for the brown one.)
Hooks: Sizes J-10 and G-6

Stitches used: ch, dc, sl st, hdc, FPhdc(Front Post Half Double Crochet), BPhdc(Back Post Half Double Crochet)

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
