MOMIJI - chiyogami earrings
Description
These handmade earrings feature chiyogami in a slightly raised, red and black Japanese maple, or momiji, pattern. Please go to the end of the description for more info on chiyogami. The chiyogami is sealed onto layers of pearl and black polymer clay. The finished earring measures approximately 43mm from the top of the sterling silver earwire to the bottom of the earring (dangle alone is 25mm long) and is glazed to a water-resistant finish.
Please note you will not receive the exact earrings pictured here, which have silver plated earwires; yours will be on sterling silver earwires, and please rest assured they will be just as lovely and well-crafted :)
All of my chiyogami pendants and earrings are handmade from start to finish and no pre-cut pieces or tiles are used. The paper and polymer clay is individually cut and the wire bail is also hand-formed, making each piece truly unique (^_^)
* Chiyogami is Japanese paper ("gami" = paper) that features gorgeous patterns and designs in an endless array of colours. Originating in the Edo period in Japan, the intricate designs were painstakingly created with woodblock stamps; today silkscreens are used on kozo-blend paper that is extremely resilient.
