Sunny Day in a Jar - Glass Focal Art Bead - SRA

Description

This bead began with a base of black and had an unusual stringer, a thin rod of glass, called Peacock, wound around it's middle. Clear dots were placed around the bead to magnify the colors underneath. The two large dots on the front are silver reduced glass which cause them to glow in the sun. The bead measure approx. 25.5mm x 52mm (1.00" x 2.00")and was wound on a 1/8" mandrel.

Each of my beads is made by me, one by one, in my home studio. Most of my beads are made out high end glass that is handcrafted by artisan glass makers and usually produced in small quantities in unique color sets. I also use many of the well known glass types that have been around for years.
The actual colors of the beads may vary somewhat from what you see on your computer due to different settings on cameras and monitors. Hopefully my description of the bead(s) will help with that! The beads are annealed in a digitally controlled kiln for strength and durability.
