Chrysophase Waterfall Earrings

Chrysophase, also called the stone of Venus, the rarest and most valuable rich apple-green gemstone in the chalcedony family and was often mistaken for emeralds by ancient jewelers. Chrysophrase was used by the Greeks, Roman and Egyptians to make seals, signets, jewelry and other ornamental objects because of its vivid color.

From a column of hand wrapped little nuggets fall two faceted, 3 dimensional Chrysophase teardrop briolettes. All hung upon handmade, almond shaped gold fill ear wires.
-These beauties measure a lengthy 2 3/4".

Chrysophrase is one of the birthstones for May and has traditionally symbolized happiness, enterprise and prudence. Said to be a powerful stone that brings good fortune and prosperity.
