Rimmed Bowl with Yellow Fish scales

Description

This colorful bowl was hand painted using the traditional maiolica technique in a traditional fish scale motif in yellow, orange and brown. The design of this bowl was inspired by classic ceramic designs of 16th century Italy.

This bowl was hand thrown on a potter's wheel with earthenware clay and hand painted using non-toxic, food safe glazes. The bowl is 7 1/16 inches in diameter, which includes a 1 5/8 inch rim. The bowl is 1 5/8 inches high. The bowl will hold about 1/2 cup of liquid in the center. The shape of this bowl was inspired by bowls from 16th century Italy where a wide rim allowed for elaborate decoration.

This bowl should be hand washed to prevent chipping.
