Islands of Corsica and Sardinia ... a Map Lover's EcoBangle(TM)

I am a proud member of the Trashion Team here on Etsy and I love to create beautiful pieces of one of a kind, wearable art from recycled materials.

Whether you travel on weekends, disappear for weeks, or just travel in your mind ... wearing this bangle will remind you of where you have been or where you might like to go.

This EcoBangle(TM) features Corsica and Sardinia, two islands located in the Mediterranean Sea. The island of Corsica is considered one of the 26 regions of France, although strictly speaking Corsica is a "territorial collectivity" by law. The island of Sardinia lies 72 m. South of Corsica, from which it is separated by the Strait of Bonifacio. Sardinia is part of Italy.

I began creating this EcoBangle(TM) by painting the inside and outer edges a calming ocean blue. Then I painted the outside bright yellow to pull out the yellow in the map of Sardinia. As with all my EcoBangles(TM), I have signed and dated the inside and added several coats of polyurethane to provide durability.

This EcoBangle(TM) is for travelers and map lovers. When considering what area of a map to feature on a "Map Lover's EcoBangle(TM)" I am looking for visual interest in the topography, place names that engage my sense of curiosity, and great color combinations.

Inside circumference is 9.42”
Width of the bangle is 1.125”

Recycled content: heavy duty cardboard tubing, vintage map, excess paint from my painter’s pallet.

Other materials: polyurethane.
