vintage 1930's beautiful LILAC satin gown S

Description

This dress is absolutely stunning! The fabric is an incredibly soft and silky satin in a pale lilac color. The dress is handmade and has tons of lovely details, like ruffled and smocked sleeves, tiny gathering at the neckline, a beautiful open back panel with smocking at the back of the waist panel, some cool stitching on the front of the waist, and a long flowing skirt. The only enclosure is a snap at the back of the neck. It feels SO NICE on, and is quite a treasure!

The condition of this dress is really great. There were a few split seams that I mended in matching thread, as well as a couple spots on the skirt that were worn into small holes. I took a photo of the "worst" spot on the skirt. There is also one other small hole next to a seam on the skirt, but I left it as is because I think it will be less noticeable that way than if it was stitched up. In terms of discoloration, the inside of the collar and under the sleeves have slight yellowing (very hard to capture on camera!), and there is a thin 1/4 inch line on the front of the dress near the sleeve. Also, the color on the right side of the back waist panel is a little off. I'm sure there is also a thread here or there that is sticking out.

All of this stuff is pretty minor, and when you consider the age and all the fabric involved in this dress it is doing extremely well! This dress is really beautiful, and not even that delicate. The fabric feels strong and it has plenty of years left in its life!

Due to the little imperfections, the price of this dress will be lower than if it was perfect. This is a unique, one of a kind stunner of a dress. Would also make a great collector's piece. So glamorous!
