In a time before Photoshop and Illustrator, artists hunched over easels with brushes and paints – rendering, as only an artist could, the shared vision of the fashion designer and the pattern maker.But when the whims of fashion changed, the patterns became obsolete. Having outlived their usefulness, these once coveted, but soon discarded patterns were cast aside in shoeboxes and relegated to the forgotten corners of sewing rooms.
These patterns have now been liberated from their cardboard keeps – all dressed up and ready to see the world. Repurposed. Renewed. Ready to serve a new function.
This 5 ½” by 4” notebook has been collaged with an original (not a copy) vintage sewing pattern and embellished with thread, buttons and just a touch of sparkle and signed "88kitty" on the back. Sewn inside are 20 pages (40 sides) of unlined paper, ready for your new memories.
