Celebration - Super Wide Beadwoven Peyote Cuff (3085)

You can't help but smile when you look at this colorful cuff. Polka dots, confetti, streamers... it's a celebration!!!

The inspiration for this design came from a piece of fabric I've had stashed away for years. I'm not sure what I ever intended to do with the fabric, but it just made me grin to see all the color and movement in it; so I set out to create a similar design with beads.

For this iteration, I chose the brightest beads in my collection. There are about a dozen colors in here, ranging from the sunniest of yellows to the brightest of reds to the bluest of blues -- 15 colors in all. The beads are all opaque Japanese delica beads, and the cuff is woven in three drop peyote stitch.

This cuff is one of the widest I've made at a whopping 2-1/2" (64mm) wide! It's 7" (18cm) around, when clasped. Because of the width, I opted to use two loops and toggles, each made from a different color.
