This lovely rutilated quartz drop is just gorgeous. It has tons of black and is very clear and high quality. The stone is wrapped with oxidized sterling silver wire and hangs from a 21" gunmetal chain. The handmade clasp is made with sterling silver. A wonderful interesting necklace!

Rutilated quartz has been referred to as Cupid's darts, Venus hair stone and Fleches d'amour.

The name quartz comes from the Saxon word querklufterz which meant cross vein ore. The name rutile comes from the Latin word rutilus meaning red.
