Super simple larimar and vermeil earrings
Description
Stabilized larimar and vermeil. Very plain and simple. Approximately 1 1/4" long.Larimar is a fairly new (first discovered in 1916, but only mined after 1974) and rare pectolite gemstone found only in the Dominican Republic. It is found in a range of colors and shades, including whites, blues, and some greens.
Vermeil (also known as silver-gilt or gilded silver) is a thick gold plating of at least 2.5 microns over sterling silver. It must be at least 10 kt to be true vermeil; the vermeil I use is usually in the 18-24 kt range. It allows the wearer to enjoy the look of precious high-karat gold with lighter weight and greater strength, but without the extreme cost. Gold currently runs $900-$1,000/troy ounce(~31.1 grams).
