One handmade journal as follows. One of a kind.
* Signed and dated (2009) by artist (me) on inside of back cover.
* 4 1/4" wide x 4 1/4" tall (bead increases width another 3/8")
* 40 blank pages (to be clear: 20 sheets, blank on two sides, except first interior page includes 3-D floral accent)
* Thick green handmade paper cover with recycled fancy paper interior accent - deep purple with pale purple leaves
* One basketweave-textured bead accent, not sure what material bead is made from
* Sheer light-maroon 1/4" wide ribbon tie closure
* 3-D flower adhered to first interior page is made from alternating-colored papers and metal center, colors of flower are light violet and salmon pink

NOTE ABOUT SERIES:
These handmade blank books were crafted over the summer of 2009. Having had a difficult year, in more ways than one, I took some time to be quiet and creative, and was inspired to create each journal as a unique design.

MATERIALS:
paper, handmade paper, sheer ribbon, glue, metal punches staples and scissors... AND one interesting bead...

USE-FULL-NESS:
Jotting down anything you wish... composing your own notes or poems... journaling your dreams... memories of times with... mounting pictures or cutouts you are saving as mementos... "honey- do" lists... a grocery list that will make you smile when you pick it up...

OTHER GIFT IDEAS:
I think these would make a great gift "as is", or altered by you (for example) filled with written- or picture- memories. This definitely has a feminine look to it, but appropriate for any age (except young if possibility of choking hazard because of bead).
