Yanasa Ganvdogv (Buffalo Tooth Necklace)
Description
This necklace measures 27 inches and has 22 amber hair pipes and 24 brass beads. The single Buffalo (yanasa in the Cherokee language)tooth (ganvdogv, tooth in Cherokee) sets it off. A very unusual necklace and will be the centerpiece of conversation. Created in the Old Way with no metal clasps or hooks this necklace, although traditional, has a contemporary look. A symbol of sacredness, life and abundance. This American Bison tooth is very old and not pretty at all. I had to add an expoxy to the inside of the tooth to strengthen it. You can see the power in this tooth.Buffalo is considered by many tribes as a symbol of abundance: its meat fed the people, skins were used for clothing and covering, bones and sinew were crafted as survival tools, hooves were converted into glue. According to Lakota tradition, White Buffalo Calf Woman gave them the Sacred Pipe, promising abundance as long as they prayed to the Great Spirit and honored All Their Relations, that is, all other creations of nature.
Buffalo's Medicine symbolizes an honor, reverence or special love for all the things that Mother Earth offers her children. It is also knowing that abundance is present when all relations are honored as sacred, and when gratitude is expressed to every living part of Creation.
Buffalo signals a moment to reconnect with the meaning of life and the value of peace, to praise the gifts you already have, and to recognize and honor the sacredness in all paths, though they may be different than yours.
The Yanasa teaches us about prayer and abundance. Buffalo teaches us that true prosperity comes when we are grateful for what we have and when we live in harmony and love with all other beings. We can truly manifest whatever we want in our life and buffalo reminds us of this fact. When buffalo appears in our lives, the universe is presenting us with opportunity for abundance, pay attention.
I give the Creator (Unetlvnvhi in the Cherokee language) and the Buffalo (yanasa in Cherokee) honored thanks for this gift of sacrifice.
