Triora, Original Landscape Collage

Description

This paper collage represents the landscape in Triora, Italy. Triora is a tiny village in the mountains, not far from the French border. It is known for its history of witches, or streghe. The village is very charming- the historic center is pedestrian only, and I enjoyed walking through it's tiny cobblestone streets and alleyways. The architecture in Triora is mainly classic Italian stone buildings with tile roofs, and the view is phenomenal. This picture was made by collaging origami paper onto a thicker paper. I added additional color and texture by rubbing chalk and charcoal powder onto some of the papers. The dimensions of this piece are 12.5 x 19 inches (31.75 x 48.25 centimeters). You can see the full image in the second picture.
