Earthy Poinsettia sqare accent dish

Description

This 5.5" square sushi dish features a perky stylized poinsettia in brilliant crimson and startling green on a ground of streaky amber. It is bordered with gorgeous black, brown and ivory streaky glass, with an unexpected chartreuse for an earthy and substantial feel with a kick! The mix of opal and transparent glass casts lovely color shadows in the sunlight.

The process for this piece includes hand cutting and fitting, then detailing with glass overlay, kiln firing into a single heavy glass disc, then slowly cooling to anneal the layers of glass. The fusing fire is timed to exactly fuse the glass while keeping some soft sculptural detail.
