Dynamic Abstract Shield Pod fused glass bowl

Description

This dramatic accent bowl has a bit of a tribal shield feel to it. It features deep black borders, brilliant green and orange with a hint of streaky purple. It is 13"x5" an of an unusual oblong shape, making a striking statement as a serving dish or as an accent piece.

It is also food and dishwasher safe. A functional and beautiful accent for your home...perfect for the gift giving!

The process for this piece includes hand cutting and fitting the distinct colors, then detailing with glass overlay, kiln firing into melt the glass into a single heavy shape, then slowly cooling to anneal the layers of glass. The fusing fire is timed to exactly fuse the glass while keeping some soft sculptural detail. After annealing, the glass is then re-fired to slump into a vessel shape.
