Description

This 19" antiqued sterling silver chain is trimmed with an antique Victorian button from the 1800's.

The button is a 5/8" Victorian brass with cut steel facets. It has a stamped floral bouquet in which one of the flowers has been accented with cut steel facets, some of which are tinted blue and copper.

Cut steel buttons were very popular in the 1700’s as a means of adding extra brilliance & shine to the buttons adorning mens clothing. One hundred years later in the mid 1800’s cut steel buttons became an integral fashion accessory for well-to-do women. Today these buttons are highly collectible.

The button and brass dragonfly stamping are on an antique enameled pocket watch dial that is 2 3/4".
