Silk Road Hooded Coat. US sz 6-8 (AU sz 10-12)

One of my latest designs, the Penelope Red Silk Road Hooded Coat. I was inspired by a Silk Ikat exhibition - see the blog: http://penelopered.blogspot.com/2009/07/silk-ikats-of-central-asia-art-gallery.html

This is a ONE-OFF Design. No other coat will be exactly the same!

The fabric used in this coat is a recycled wool blend bouclé. I love the vivid colours woven into this: pink, yellow, jade, blue, purple and green.

I love full sleeves, and the pleat detail just adds a little accent. The hood was inspired by so many movies to name them! The overall shape was inspired by the Silk Ikat robes.

You can wear this coat with a belt (one in green silk has been included, or you can use your own), or wear it loose and free. It looks HOT with a mini skirt and heels, and you can wear it casually with jeans.

This coat has a lot of work involved in the construction. It has been fully inter-lined, interfacing has been applied, as well as being fully lined in rayon. There are side pockets, and two vintage buttons are on the outside. Other buttons are on the inside for the fastening- look at blog for details.

Measurements: The coat is a loose fit, so the measurements are an approximate. Please contact me if you are unsure.
This will fit a woman with measurements between-
Bust: 84cm-92cm/33-36inches
Waist: 66-74cm/26-29inches
Hips: 92-102cm/36-40inches

Width of shoulders: 40cm/16inches
Length of sleeve: 59cm/23inches
