Lucy of the Crows, gothic art matte repro 5 x 7

Description

"Lucy of the Crows," a 5 x 7 matte reproduction of my original painting (original also available in a separate listing a an 8 x 10 on canvas). The image was taken directly from a digital image scan of the painting and reproduced on high quality matte photo paper using a traditional photographic process. It will last 100 years in typical home display, 200 years in dark storage.

St. Lucy, or St. Lucia, a Christian martyr, is often pictured in icons as bearing her eyes on a plate. With that theme in mind, this interpretation shows a pale blonde woman in Victorian grey clothing, adorned with lace trim and black buttons. A black veil hangs over her head, obscuring her eyes, but her red lips bear a small smile. A pair of crows or blackbirds rest in her hands, clutching eyeballs in their beaks. A quiet, gothic image -- she could also be seen as an image from a Victorian ghost story, or a lovely gift for the Halloween season perhaps.

Print is on Kodak Supra Endura Professional Photographic Paper. Listing is for photo print only, no frame or mat are included, I took a picture to show you how it might look displayed on your wall.

There is a 1/4 inch white border around the image, so most frames/mats will not overlap the actual image. If you would prefer a print where the image has no borders please convo me and I can prepare a borderless version for you.

The watermark on the image above does NOT appear on the photo, of course! I will ship in a firm, non-bendable mailer or between cardboard to ensure safety, via first class mail. Priority mail available if desired. I will sign and date on the back.
