Description

this is one of the cutest and most whimsical needlefelting books from japan. this book is the new edition of ISBN 9784277563109, 'animal mascots made of wool,' with the same projects but a new cover.

it includes 19 main projects, and several of them include many variations. the projects have very whimsical titles, and include relevant props to create the unique animal personalities.

the projects are: apple bear, carrot rabbit, bear with bird; ladybug and honeybee; pink pig; postal donkey; rabbit with donghnut; waiting cat; dog's eating; pestering goat and rabbit; naughty bear; elephant and lesser panda brothers; swan in the lake; mobile gull; parent and child of penguin; spotted seal babies; sea otter's meal; heartwarming whale; little mascots (these include little red riding hood and the wolf, russian matroishka dolls, a red bird, and a dog on wheels) and cell phone straps (bunny, ladybug, and hedgehog).

for the sheer variety of projects, this book is amazing. add in the incredible cuteness factor and the quirky characters (why is the donkey a postal worker? why does the rabbit have a wheeled basket of doughnuts? it doesn't matter, it's adorable).

the titles of the projects are written in english but all other written instructions are in japanese. don't worry though, there are tons of step by step pictures and diagrams showing how to put the wee animals together using just a felting needle, some sewing for details, and sometimes a wire inside the limbs, etc.
