I call these batts Treasure Chest batts for a couple of reasons.. The treasure fiber comes from my treasure box..

But what is "treasure fiber"? This is spinner's gold.. the extra special bits leftover on the drum carder after carding a batt.. and all the fiber leftover from projects.. all gets thrown into a big tub.. then I pull from it to create a wonderful cacophony of color and texture for you to create amazing fiber art!

This batt could contain any/all of the following fibers: merino top, alpaca top, merino fleece, corridale fleece, coopworth locks, merino/cormo fleece, cotswold locks, kid mohair locks, rambouliet fleece, targhee fleece, romney locks, alpaca locks, llama locks, bamboo, silk, milk protein fiber, black diamond, sari silk strands, sari silk yarn, sari silk ribbon, novelty yarn snippets, recycled yarn snippets, silk noil, bamboo noil, cotton noil, banana silk, thread waste, firestar, angelina, lurex, tinsel, sequins

There's LOTS of amazing things that can be done with crazy batts- they are wonderful for corespinnig- plays with the textures and colors- Spin these batts super bulky for bumpy fun, ply with thread to bring in even more bumpy lumpy goodness, spin as a single and ply with a solid color to balance the crazy, use bits for POPS of color as cocoons or add in's in your yarns- or felt it into a fun textural creation- whatever you do this batt will inspire creativity!

These batts are also great if you are working on a large project. Since so many colors and textures are used, you can buy as many as you need and just keep adding.. since there is no real need for matching.. everything will match!!

This batt was run thru my carder only once, so there's bold color variations. This batt was carded with love on my Louet Classic drum carder. These are fleecy textured batts- they are carded from top and fleece, so they are super textured- but balanced by the soft merino top. There also may be a bit of VM that didn't come out in the carding. That will fall out as you spin. There's also textural add in's layered throughout the batt as well (not just on top!)
