LOVE POTION ENAMELED BANGLE
Description
A friend recently reminded me that what she needed most was a Love Potion. I can't mix one of those up for her, so I mixed a batch of enamels on copper instead! This one's called LOVE POTION, and I hope it works as well! There's something about the weight and texture of these bracelets that just feels SO good! The organic quality and originality (you won't find them anywhere else) of Charmed I'm Sure's bracelets and rings make them wonderful examples of hand made art jewelry.
LOVE POTION ENAMELED BANGLE is enameled with lovely shades of wintergreen and light blue opaque enamels and would look great with jeans or dressier clothes for a night on the town. This bracelet is quite durable and has a nice weight and feel to it. Combine with other enameled bangles from Charmed I'm Sure for a happy jingly sound!
LOVE POTION evolved after receiving a few pieces of torch-cut copper strips as an "extra" in an order from a supplier of cut copper strips. I discovered how beautiful the new material I had received looked when formed into a bracelet, riveted, and enameled! The appearance and texture of the copper ridges and bumps are quite pleasing and unique!
The bracelet pictured is the one you will receive, not a copy. LOVE POTION is one-of-a-kind!
Enameled front & back in my studio, LOVE POTION was made from highly durable heavy-duty, hand cut & enameled copper, and kiln-fired enamel.
My wearable enameled art pieces are strong enough to resist bending, chipping or cracking of the fine glass enameled coating.
LOVE POTION measures approximately 7/8 TO 1 inch wide, and 2 1/2 inches in diameter. It will fit nicely on average-sized hands/wrists. If the width at the base of your fingers is approximately 3 inches across (give or take a bit), then this bracelet will be perfect!
Originally inspired by a class entitled "Enamel on Copper Jewelry" taught by Richard Salley at the 2008 Art & Soul Retreat in Portland, Oregon, I have further pursued the fine art of enameling. In addition, I am extremely fortunate to be able to study under Averill Shepps, a world famous enamelist. Averill's work can be seen at http://www.enamelist.com/ and also at http://www.torpedofactory.org/galleries/enamelists.htm
I have also been working with George Waricher, an enamelist for over 30 years, from the Carlisle, PA, Arts Center.
Charmed I'm Sure enameled jewelry can also be purchased at the Village Artisans Gallery in historic Boiling Springs, PA. ~ http://www.villageartisansgallery.com/, at the Carlisle Arts Learning Center and at Off the Wall Elegance in Carlisle, PA, and at the Susquehanna Art Museum and also the Hodgepodgery in Harrisburg.
As an artist, I have found enameling to be particularly empowering, allowing me much variety in color, shape, & texture. It is not unusual to have the raw metal material guide me to its end form. It is truly thrilling to experience the results of combining glass powders and copper or steel after firing in a 1500 degree kiln. No two pieces are exactly alike & each creation has a special gleaming personality of its own!
