Hwa-Tu / Hanafuda Card Design - March / Cherry Blossom / Sakura Print

Description

Hand printed, signed, & numbered, this beautiful print is part of a series of re-designed classic Asian Flower Card game. Known as "Hwa-Tu" in Korea and "Hanafuda" in Japan, the game has been played for decades throughout history. The Flower Card game features lovely designs that represent the months of the year.

Shown is my re-design of the March card which is classically represented by Cherry Blossoms (Sakura), and a Japanese Camp Curtain.

Only 100 of these prints will be made and hand numbered.

Construction includes full-color ink transfer onto gorgeous, textured Japanese rice paper - Deco Ginwashi, wrapped/adhered around 1/2" thick pine wood block. The block is mounted to a separate section of 1/2" thick wood which brings the art forward when hung on a wall. The final piece measures 5.5" x 13 3/8"
