The Maneki Neko (招き猫, literally "Beckoning Cat"; also known as Welcoming Cat, Lucky Cat, Money cat or Fortune Cat) is a common Japanese sculpture, often made of porcelain or ceramic, which is believed to bring good luck to the owner. The sculpture depicts a cat (traditionally a Japanese Bobtail) beckoning with an upright paw, and is usually displayed—many times at the entrance—in shops, restaurants, pachinko parlors, and other businesses. Some of the sculptures are electric or battery-powered and have a slow-moving paw beckoning. In the design of the sculptures, a raised right paw supposedly attracts money, while a raised left paw attracts customers.

This is a cute Luck Cat Pillow/Softie/Plush. Modeled after my Lucky Cat paintings, now you can have one to cuddle with!

Painted on canvas with striped fabric backing,sewn zig-zag seams with a rough look edge, stuffed with fiber fill.

A little about the artist
Soule was born in Warshin'ton state. Growing up in the sticks, her only friends were tree dwelling creatures. One day she became incredibly lost and stumbled upon the "city" and discovered a wheat pasted poster. Not only visually appealing, it was delicious. She had to learn more about this new discovery, so after befriending some city folk, she branched out on her own armed with spray paint, stencils and ink. At the ripe ol' age of 16 she had her first art show which was a success, this got the ball rolling so she ran with it bringing her to Seattle, WA. Keep an eye out for Urban Soule clothing, paintings, toys, and whatever else she feels like making! She also is a founding member of the all female DLUKS-3 Crew out of Seattle.
She is also featured in the Stencil Nation: Graffiti,Community and Art Book and
wrote a Stencil tutorial for the "Hand Made Graphics" by Rotovision being released Summer 2009.
