Desert Blossom Necklace

Description

Turquoise has been a perennial favorite since the ancient Egyptians used it over 5,000 years ago in jewelry and decoration, often combining turquoise with lapis lazuli and carnelian. It gets a new look here with a flower carved into the nugget.

We often associate turquoise with southwestern USA, but it is also found in Mexico, Chile, Australia, China, Nepal and Africa. It has been associated with good luck, physical and psychic healing, and protection against evil.

Body oils can cause turquoise to change color over time, so rinsing these oils off after wearing the necklace will help to keep the color true.

Sterling silver plated necklace is 18" long.
