This is a male Japanese paper doll (washi ningyo) e-book originally designed and diagrammed by me, Tracy Goh. I have modified this traditional Japanese art into a fun and simple project.

The original size of this model is about 2.5" tall but you can easily scale up your pattern to make larger dolls. The e-book includes step-by-step full colour illustration and simple instructions in English. You will learn to make a male doll in semi-formal traditional outfit which includes "haori" (a kimono jacket) and "hakama" (trousers worn over kimono).

All dolls shown here are just examples of what you may create from this e-book.

Here's basically what you need to make the doll:
1. Washi papers or any pretty paper suitable for making kimono
2. Crepe papers
3. Tissue
4. Toothpicks or thin sticks (wood/bamboo/plastic)
5. Cotton OR foam
6. Ruler, scissors, strong glue (PVA / white glue/fabric glue), pencil, wire, extra toothpick for applying glue
