STATEMENT Walnut Chest Piece

Description

The necklace is made of walnut sustainable harvested in the US. It was given to me by mohop.etsy.com. She makes the most amazing shoes! I went to her studio and she gave me quite a bit of walnut that she could not use. Silver leather cord is affixed to the necklace with agate beads at the end. They help to counter the weight of the center section and allow this necklace to be worn without tying it on. Although, it does work best if you tie at least some of the leather together. The extra leather cords can be worn in front or behind the body.

I make single and double fingered rings with this bubble feel. A friend of mine wears one like a necklace and that gave me the idea for this piece. I really wanted it to look like modern armor or a chest plate. The piece is slightly curved so it sits better against the chest.

This piece went down the runway at Midwest Fashion week.
