Spring Taffy - Handspun 2-ply South African Fine Wool Yarn - 226 yards

This sweet skein was handspun by me (Amelia) from a Spunky Eclectic spacedyed roving in soft yellows, pinks, and lilacs. The South African Fine wool is next-to-the-skin soft for most people.

I spun up 4 ounces of this lovely roving on my wheel into a nice moderate-twist balanced 2-ply yarn, and then washed the skein to set the twist. The singles were divided and plied using a technique called "fractal plying" -- when knit up, you will see banding of colors occurring as one ply changes color more quickly than the other. It's really cool in fingerless gloves, and less noticeable in a watch cap.

You are purchasing the skein; I've shown the photo of dividing the fiber up and the singles on the bobbin to give you an idea of the color changes done when spinning this yarn.

Care: hand wash gently in cool water. Dry flat. This is a feltable yarn, do not machine wash.
