Truthfully, I was more inspired by the Michelle Shocked song of the same name which I first discovered on the "Dead Man Walking" soundtrack. Michelle repeats the theme which Shakespeare explored much earlier, and just as eloquently and passionately:
"On the just and unjust alike it doth rain
And the quality of mercy is not strained.
Vengeance and revenge are just two words for pain
And the quality of mercy is not strained."

Turquoise nuggets and ornate Bali silver beads adorned with exotic wirework create the 20 inch necklace and highlight the necklace's one-of-a-kind focal piece, a cross the color of turquoise and rain. "MERCY" is stamped into the hand-crafted polymer cross and the piece is embellished with a silver-toned angelic charm discovered in a dusty corner of a quaint curiosity shoppe. The cross is 3-1/4 inches (8.5cm) long, covered on the sides and back with black seed beads and displayed on the necklace by gunmetal permanently-colored copper wire.

The necklace is completed with a stunning Bali silver square toggle clasp.
