Raw Miners Lettuce

Description

This ring was inspired from miners lettuce. In the Spring this plant takes over the woods in my front yard. It tastes bland, is lusciously green, and tends to grow in large numbers that all mush together creating the forms that I tried to recreate in this ring.

The metal is all sterling silver treated with a patina in order to darken the surface. The band and edges have been burnished out to expose the silver and give the ring a little shine from the underside. The dimensions of the two leaves measures just under 1 inch wide and just shy of 1-1/2 inch long.

This ring will be sent nestled inside a box made custom for it. I found the wood in a burn pile last year, it is super old and has a lot of character.
