Wool Potholder No.1
Description
Why wool? Wool is a good insulator, is washable, and isn't flammable. Wool is long wearing. So much for practicality. I call these weaves potholders, because they can work very well for that purpose. They are also a small weave textile, a sample of color, texture & design.
I use some of these small woven pieces as ideas for a larger woven rug.
They are woven of high quality warp yarns and new wool strips. Some of the colors have been hand dyed. May be hung as a small piece of textile art work.
Handwoven, in the Swedish Rosepath design, with a detail line of contrasting Rosepath pattern woven into the linen header. Washable.
