Beautiful antique cream and gold hand crafted parchment fan
Description
Edinburgh Vintage's first genuine antique listing -- and what a find! This beautiful fan is original 1920s, hand crafted using quill and parchment and hand painted with gold and black detailing. The handle and stems are made from shaped feather quills, and the fan itself is treated parchment -- each piece intricately cut and painted. The whole thing is strung with white cotton and still works perfectly with barely any damage -- only a few flakes of paint lost here and there. There are no marks anywhere, this is really a beautiful antique piece -- nearly a century old! From top to bottom the folded fan measures nearly 10in, and when opened out it spans 16in at the widest point.Added on Oct 28, 2009
