There are magic properties attributed to lavender. Lavender is a Mercury and Air herb. It has a crisp, clean, timeless fragrance and light, flowery taste. For millenniums, lavender was used magically for its calming, peaceful, and sedating effects. There is a magical belief that lavender can attract love and money due to its attractive scent.

I have created these limited edition talismans and amulets from a unique piece of a vintage Italian linen.

My amulets and talismans are decorated with coins - to attract money; little mirrors - to reflect back the ill wishes. There are also fish-shapes for prosperity and longevity, blue beads and, especially, “evil eye” blue glass beads to ward the “evil eye” away from you or your baby.

The tradition of magic belief in the Evil Eye is common to many parts of the world; the strongest being the Middle East, Europe and Mediterranean. It is referred to in dozens of languages, including Turkish, Russian, Hebrew, Arabic, Greek, German, French, Spanish and English.

For most people, the notion of amulets is a thing of the nostalgic past, one associated with rituals and folk beliefs. But amulets and talismans are not mere objects of superstitions, they are also revered as fine art objects, as well as witnesses of ancient tradition and culture.

The charm could be placed on or near any door or window, worn with your bag or clipped to a diaper bag or attached to your baby wrap or sling.

Each amulet contains a small amount of a certified organic
lavender.
