Description

This is a set of 8 matching Fiber Care tags. Attach them to your lovely handknits, telling the lucky recipient what fibers you used, and how to properly care for them!

These tags are the all-occasion version of my "Girl Riding Sheep" holiday tags & cards. My original collage design is based on a lovely 1908 antique snapshot of a young girl riding her pet sheep on a snowy winter afternoon.

How I Make Them

I restored and altered the antique photograph, and lightly colorwashed her hair ribbon with "Alice blue", and picked out the sheep's bell in brassy yellow.

A blue gingham pattern trims both edges, and below the image is the text "Hand Knit for You!". I've added a matching blue satin ribbon tie.

I hand cut each tag to measure approximately 3 inches square, and attach a matching ribbon tie. (The ribbon may vary slightly from that shown here, but will always be blue unless you request otherwise!)

Then I print my design on heavyweight ivory card stock, using a combination of color laser toner inks for permanence, and pigmented ink for depth.

Fiber Care Wording

On the back, I print Fiber Care text, reading "Hand Knit for You!", "Fiber Content:", and "Fiber Care", with the image of a ball of yarn with knitting needles ... or of course any text of your choosing.

Custom Text Choices

As I create each set of tags individually to your order, you can also choose alternate text, such as "Happy Birthday", "Be My Valentine", "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays" ... "Hand Crocheted" instead of "Hand Knit", or any alternate wording you'd like. Just let me know in Notes to Seller, or email me.

Packing & Shipping

I package your set of 8 fiber care tags in a cello sleeve inside a protective board mailer. I'll ship via USPS First Class mail, so you should receive them within 3 to 4 business days. (I'm happy to upgrade to Priority or International shipping if you need it.)
