Description

This is my original drawing of a WillowTree screen printed onto a hand dyed 100% cotton tee by Article 1. These shirts run small so you will need a size larger than usual. They are preshrunk and have been washed and dried twice already because of the dyeing process. The shirt on the hanger is the one for sale, I just included a picture of how this style fits on a model. (The one she is wearing is sold.)

Tree Species: Weeping Willow (Salix x sepulcralis)
The flowing branches of the willow tree make it a very popular tree despite its tendency to age in a less than gracious manner. Willows are often planted on the borders of water so that their interlacing roots may protect the bank from erosion. Almost all willows take root very readily from cuttings or even branches lying on the ground. A story exists about such growth from a cutting that involves the poet Alexander Pope, who begged a willow twig from a parcel tied with twigs sent from Spain to Lady Suffolk. This willow twig was planted and thrived, and legend has it that all of England's weeping willows are descended from this first one.
