Pink Cherry Blossom Dippers- pair

Description

New item! I've been working with slips and carving, which both suit perfectly to these little bowls.

They start as a flat slab, cut into circles and are hand formed onto hand-made mold. Then I layer on different colors of slip, and once it dries to leatherhard I hand carve patterns, like swirls, flowers and vines, into the little bowls. I take a lot of inspiration for my carvings from my work in henna (mehendi).

This pair of bowls has a deep pink slip into which I carved multiple cherry blossoms overlapping.

Use them for dip bowls, tea bag holders, ring holders, pinching bits of spices (salt and pepper!), anything you can think of!

They measure about 2 1/2 inches wide and around 1" tall.

Handmade from Flint Hills, Kansas porcelain, carved, clear glazed and fired to cone 6 in an electric kiln. Foodsafe, microwave and dishwasher safe. Handwashing always makes pottery last longer, though!
