Dark Desert Sage Soap

Description

As I was walking through the desert, I was looking at all the plants, wondering which ones I could toss into a soap. Naturally, jojoba. Sage. Agave. The creosote bush. So I went home and this is what I did.

I started by infusing some olive oil with creosote leaves, which is usually refered to as chapperal when used as an herb. To this olive oil I added some jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, coconut oil, and my favorite wheat germ oil. As part of my liquid for the lye, I added some aloe vera juice to my distilled water. Once my liquid was added to my oils, I added some sweet agave nector. And for essential oils, I added sage, rosemary, and palmarosa.

And what I ended up with is a beautiful bar of soap, enhanced with nourishing ingredients like aloe vera, agave nector, jojoba oil, chapperal leaves, and scented like the great Sonoran Desert!

The beautiful dark color is achieved by the infusion of the chapperal into the olive oil.

Each bar is a hefty 5oz.

The edges of the bars are currently unbeveled, but if you would like them beveled, just drop a note in the customer comments when ordering.
