Sweet Jasmine Natural Olive Oil and Shea Butter Soap

Description

Sweet, floral, sensual, with a rooty/woodsy base: this olive oil and shea butter soap is naturally scented with a blend of essential oils, floral waxes and absolutes including jasmine, sandalwood, rosewood and vanilla-scented resins such as Peru Balsam and benzoin. It smells similar to my Secret Garden blend, but deeper and warmer. Because I wanted this soap to look as enchanting as it smells, I colored it with organic alkanet root, then decorated it with organic dried jasmine blossoms.

I take a lot of pride in my soaps. I use an unusually high percentage of olive oil in my base recipe--very close to fifty percent. I then add enough coconut oil to boost the lather, but not enough to be drying; palm oil to make a hard and long-lasting bar, and a decent amount of shea butter so your skin will feel soft. And I use a touch of castor oil, which makes the bars lather even better.

I scent my soaps with natural essential oils, and occasionally an absolute or resin. I never use synthetic fragrance oils or artificial colorants.

I am happy to announce that beginning with this batch of Sweet Jasmine soap, I am using organic palm oil in all my soaps.

Sweet Jasmine is a good-sized soap, weighing at least 4.5 oz.
