Once children have mastered consonants, the next goal is learning beginning blends. This game is perfect for helping early readers take that step forward. Whether you’re a homeschooler, tutor, classroom teacher, or parent looking for learning activities, you’ll find the R-Express as useful as it is fun. Focusing on 4 r-blends (tr, gr, cr, and br) players sort pictures by beginning sounds. Partners take turns choosing cards, identifying the blend and placing it on their boards. The winner is the first player to load her train with all 4 blend cards.

This game includes 2 train game boards, 25 game cards (5 for each blend and 5 action cards like go again, miss a turn, etc.) and directions for play. Also included are instructions for turning the game into a file folder game.

As an extra bonus, the R-Express game includes a special skill sheet to give your student extra practice with beginning blends.
