Key ring, miniature top whorl drop spindle

This listing is for the ORIGINAL mini spindle key ring: ONE key ring. As pictured, I have BLACK CHERRY, NATURAL, or ESPRESSO but not the mixed stain ready. Please note your choice in the comments of your order or I will be happy to choose for you.

Remove the key ring, add a cord and wear it as a pendant! I use one as a zipper pull on my purse--draws lots of comments! I plan to hang several on our Christmas tree (maybe with a bit of bright colored, spun fiber attached?).

One of my lovely customers actually opened the hook on her key chain spindle and used it to spin on an airplane! I use a full size spindle on airplanes but you never know when desperation will strike.

WHORL: red oak, 1.5 inches, jacobean (dark) or natural SHAFT: hardwood

SPECIFICS: I was playing around in the workshop and had the idea to make some teeny drop spindles. My husband thinks I'm crazy but these key rings are just too cute! Now you can have a spindle with you anywhere, anytime. Wonderful for showing your addiction to the world.

GENERAL DETAILS: I cut my whorls from actual boards, using a drill press with a hole saw--these are NOT craft store blanks! Each is then carefully shaped and sanded to a smooth, snag-free finish. I use tiny, solid brass eye screws (opened and polished) rather than bulky cup hooks. Once complete, each spindle is sealed with several coats of premium satin polyurethane, hand-rubbed with fine steel wool between coats. Each spindle is signed, dated and the weight in fine print on the bottom of the whorl.
