Azalea Flower Hair Clip

Description

This azalea measures about 3 1/2" across with a 2" hair clip.

I began making these flower hair clips because, personally, I wanted flowers for my hair that had the look and feel of real flowers.

I use silk or faux-silk flowers. Most of the time, depending on how the flower is put together, I take apart the flower, removing all or most of the plastic before reassembling it and attaching it to a hair clip or bobby pins. This tends to give the flower a more realistic appearance. It also keeps the flower lying more flat against the hair. Sometimes, flower hair clips tend to stick out too far for my taste. Often I will make a more natural looking center for the flower as well, unless the one provided really adds to the overall look.
