Grateful ~ Rose, bay & other essential oils give this full-bodied blend a sweet & lightly spiced fragrance.

If you have not used a natural perfume, you will be amazed at the “story” it has to tell. The top notes (also called ‘head notes’) are the first ones to “speak”. They are most noticeable at first . When the top notes start to dissipate, the middle notes (also called heart notes) chime in to continue the story. They tell the main part of the story & are the body of the perfume. The base notes speak last, but once you smell them, you realize they have been there all along. Base notes bring depth and solidity to a perfume.
One spray from the glass atomizer is all that is needed. For application, spray at heart level & walk into the mist. Perfume oils in roll-on applicators are applied to pulse points & are intended for a discreet audience.

It is believed that incense was the first form of perfumery. Ancient cultures burned many kinds of herbs, woods, resins & gums & incorporated them into vegetable & animal oils to anoint the body. Believing that these fragrant herbs & oils attracted the goodwill of the gods, they were reserved for spiritual/religious ceremonies, in ritual for gods, embalming of the dead & for medicine. Possession of these precious oils was also evidence of wealth & prestige. In keeping with the idea of being spiritually clean, perfumes started to be used more freely & it was recommended to bathe & anoint the body with perfumed oils...to fill the air with its fragrance. Perfumery has been an essential part of humanity. It was held in high esteem in Biblical times & is still in use today. It's history is intertwined with the history of the human race.

The art of perfume making has evolved over thousands of years. From carefully chosen & handcrafted aromas, to factory-size distilleries, to today where synthetic fragrances are created in laboratories. They can be reproduced in large quantities, with predictable results & is more cost effective than using natural ingredients. The National Academy of Sciences reports that 95% of the chemicals used in fragrances today are synthetic compounds derived from petroleum including known toxins capable of causing allergic reactions, asthma, cancer, birth defects, central nervous system disorders & the list goes on... The cosmetic industry is self regulated. It is not required to give formulations, test results, safety data or consumer complaints to the FDA. When you use perfume or any scented product that says ‘Fragrance’ on the ingredient list, remember you are using powerful chemicals regulated solely by the industry that sells them.

In keeping with the tradition of ancient perfumers, I have created a unique & modern line of intriguing scents, custom perfumes & uni-sex fragrances using essential oils. Essential oils are derived from the seeds, leaves, roots, flowers, bark & resins of plants. Each perfume/fragrance is created in small batches by hand & can take up to 5 weeks before completion.
