Description

This dog is sleeping on the floor.....

It is hand carved. The dog is unglazed and the background is textured brown-tan, like a wood floor.

It measures 46mm across. It is about 6-8mm thick. The hole for stringing runs across the top and measures about 1-2mm.


The raku process produces surface irregularities and can produce small chips and crazing and thermal shock lines. Raku produces soot most of which can be washed off, but some remains. I have rinsed, soaked and washed all beads with baking soda then filed areas that were too rough. The black coloration is absorbed into the surface of the bead and ranges in color from black to light gray. All clay beads are breakable. This is a new tile.
