Large Amber Nugget and Sterling Silver Earrings

Description

Thumbnail-size amber nuggets are wirewrapped with small stamped Hill Tribe silver* beads on my hand-made sterling silver head pins. They hang from my hand-made sterling silver ear wires.

I oxidized and hand-polished all the sterling silver. The ear wires' ends have been filed and tumbled to a super-smooth finish.

Just a bit shorter than 1 and 3/4 inches (4.5 cm) long, including the ear wires. The amber beads are 5/8 inch (1.6 cm) long.

* Hill Tribe silver beads are individually handmade by the Karan (also spelled Karen) Hill Tribe of Northern Thailand. These beads have a higher pure silver content (usually 97%) than sterling silver (92.5%) does.
