Medium Celadon Celtic Knotwork Cup

Description

The perfect choice for any beverage (tea, wine or even your morning juice), this cup also makes a lovely bud vase.

This porcelain cup was thrown on the potter's wheel and hand carved. The knotwork was designed directly on the side and carved into the porcelain when it is leather-hard (dry enough to hold its shape but not completely dry). No templates or molds were used; each knot I carve is unique.

The cup was finished with a medium shade of celadon and then fired to approximately 2300°F (1,260°C).

If you use this cup for a hot beverage such as tea, warm the cup before adding boiling water. Rapid change of extreme temperatures can cause cracking. While the cup is microwave and dishwasher safe, hand washing is recommended.

The cup holds approximately 8 ounces (235 mL) and is about 3.5" (8.5 cm) tall and 3.25" (8 cm) in diameter.
