Fingerless mitts are fast becoming a fashion staple for the fall and winter months.
This pattern is so lovely and practical. The basket weave cables give a smart look and add interest to any yarn. Make a solid color for casual pair or two color with sassy straps for a "street smart" pair. Either way, these mitts are bound to become your favorite cold weather fashion accessory.

These can be knit in a variety of yarns, I suggest a wool, alpaca or blend of the two. A super soft washable merino wool would be an excellent choice, or, go all the way, and knit these up in a luxurious cashmere as a gift or just to spoil yourself.

Knit in the round using DPN, the thumb is knit in giving these a professional look.
