White spotted Char or iwana decorative ceramic art fish wall hanging.
Description
The white spotted char runs from Kamchatka and mainland Russia through the Bering straight to Honshu Japan.Fine crackling of the glaze give the fish an aged look which is true of this form of trout/char as it goes back to the eighteenth century as being caught by fisherpeople in Japan and Russia.
The fish is about nine and half inches long, and is signed and dated on the reverse with a wire attached for hanging.
