Vintage 1950s Two Piece Womens Suit by Jo Hardin Originals Dallas

This lovely Audrey style wool blend skirt and top were worn by the bride as her going away dress. A creamy white with punched embroidered fall color flowers with a touch of sequins. Labeled “Jo Hardin Originals Dallas”. Six covered buttons for back closure while the skirt is elastic waist. A perfect outfit for a second wedding and certainly for a winter wedding!
Measurements:
Top: Bust 36”
Waist: 34”
Sleeves: 15 ½”
Total Length: 21 ½”
Skirt: 26” stretched worn elastic waist
Hips: 34”
Total skirt length: 23”
This outfit has been in storage and does need cleaning. There are some smudge marks and tiny spots. I find no holes or worn places although on one of the flowers it is missing some thread while the skirt does not have a waistband. The material has been overlapped and hand stitched to where the elastic is placed. Although folding the material over elastic and machine stitching was common. This was perhaps the way she hemmed her skirt to her petite size. The elastic is completely stretched.
Such a lovely vintage outfit which was and still is as beautiful as a Rose... was purchased at "The Smart Shoppe" which in its time was one of the elite boutiques 1940's - 1970's in the brides local hometown.
