PATTERN BY EMAIL - CROCHET COTTON SCRUBBIES AND WASH CLOTHS

Description

I have designed and written this four page pattern so you can do you bit for the environment and make your own cotton scrubbies and facecloths.

These eco-friendly crocheted scrubbies and facecloth are the perfect way to help you reduce the amount of stuff you buy and throw away, like cotton wool balls and pads, face wipes and paper tissues. They will last for years.

They’re great for cleansing, toning, exfoliating, applying ointment and even cleaning baby’s bottoms.

The pattern contains instructions for 4 different scrubbies, 4 matching wash cloths and a strap so you can keep your stack tidy.

Depending on the make of cotton yarn used, each scrubbie will measure between 9 and 9.5cm square and the face cloth will measure between 19 and 20cm square.

For best results I would recommend using the same yarn type for each stack of scrubbies, as different makes of yarn produce slightly different sized squares.

You will need a 4.5mm crochet hook, oddments of 100% cotton yarn dk weight for each scrubbie, approximately 30g of 100% cotton dk weight yarn for each face cloth, darning needle, button, scissors and a tape measure.

The pattern ranges from easy to intermediate. Two of the scrubbies are easy and two are slightly more advanced. You will need to know how to:

make a foundation chain
double crochet (US - single crochet)
treble crochet (US - double crochet)
slip stitch
(The pattern uses combinations of these stitches).

I have written a US version and a UK version of the pattern.
