Faded Rose (The 2nd in a Series ) - The Secret Garden of Doctor Moreau

Description

Rose is one of the elders, a relic from the first experimental days. Her sight is not what it once was (this may be a good thing); her eye has faded to gray after many years of being a captive audience to the goings on in the garden. Once a vibrant beauty, she clings to the hope that she may just once, see beyond the garden gate before her final days. She has not lost faith that the right visitor will see her for the beauty she still is; delicately Victorian with layered lace petals and a gray but wise eye that carries much wisdom and knows many secrets.

Multi layered richness of beautiful filigrees have been crowned with a gray, filigree wrapped, vintage doll eye, and suspends among multi colored chain with a glass crystal for hope, a religious medal and cross for faith, a rose colored antique rhinestone button and an antique skeleton key.

The back story:
My late night excursion to the forbidden garden was eerie to say the least. I could not possibly leave with out proof of having been there. It was with out a doubt, creepy; a garden of things, the likes of which you cannot possibly imagine. To actually pick one of these flowers was quite unnerving; they were watching, all of them, always…watching, never blinking, just that incessant, expressionless stare. I just closed my eyes and snipped one! I have included a key to the hidden gate, should you care to venture in and pick another or an entire bouquet. Take note: the key can only be used once; as the lock morphs after a key has been used, requiring a new key for the next entrance.

Given that she never blinks or sleeps - she could be your guardian, your protector, third eye, your watcher or maybe she is just a voyeur.......it remains to be seen.

“Faded Rose” suspends from a vintage Monet rope chain.
Chain is 22 inches, flower focal is 2 7/8” inches in diameter, chain and key accent fall 5 1/4” inches below the flower. Bizarre and dark, yet beautiful, she is an intriguing story piece and the second in my series “The Secret Garden of Doctor Moreau.” I hope you find her as lovely and captivating as I do.
